Default Eggs!

My girl just laid her first clutch, perfect healthy looking eggs. I hope I am doing everything correctly. I have the incubator set at about 76. I put the eggs in individual deli cups with hatchrite filled to right below the vent holes and partially covered the eggs with hatchrite. (using lllreptile hovabator kit) I put water in the hovabator water pan and also filled a deli cup with water, to much/little for humidity? I have never attempted incubating before, wish us luck! And if you have any tips let me know!

Awesome! Congrats! As far as temps go, im not sure what everyone else has incubated at, I incubated my eggs at room temp because I didnt have an incubator up at the time. Everyone is different as far as vent holes or no vent holes. I personally dont use them, I just make sure im not getting condinsation on the lid, I actually use taller containers though so it doesnt seem to be the problem very often. The water in the incubator will help it hold temps alittle more steady, I dont think you can really over do it with that, Itd be better for someone who uses vent holes to answer that though, since I dont use them.

Thanks! I guess I will keep an eye on the eggs and if they seem to shrivel I will tape up some or all of the vents. She buried them at the very bottom of the dampest part of the terrarium so I assume they don't need any air flow at all. I guess in the wild the hatch lings would dig through a lot of soil if they would survive, I was surprised to find them so deep. She usually is pretty tame and doesn't mind eating from my hand and being handled, but she was very defensive of her little mound. Almost felt bad taking them out. I will update soon!

Ive never actually seen any pics of ANY geckos hatching in the wild. Id assume that if they laid the eggs above the ground though that they would be eaten quite quickly by a predator. Poor little geckos have the tough time of coming out of the egg, then are forced to dig themselves out of the ground! Gotta be tough on them!

Found two more fertile eggs last night! She has not been with the male since before she laid the last clutch, but she hangs out in a certain spot after she lays her eggs and sure enough, there they were. Nice surprises from her!
