I had somebody ask me some questions regarding the pachys and was wondering if anybody had any info on them. What are good prices for the rangei, montanus, scutatus, and wernini? Anyone had any experience with these and how easy are they to care for and/or breed.
Thanks for your feedback,
Mark

Hi Mark,
Hope all is well. Not sure if I can be of help but my first colony of geckos were Pachydactylus bibroni. They were cheap and in my opinion attractive. They were amusing little guys and were very prolific. I use to keep them in natural decorated terrariums. They were easy to take care of and had hardy appetites. I have a small group of P. scutatus & tigrinus now and I care for them the same. The down side to these guys is the size of their offspring, very small. But in my experience they are very hardy geckos. My goal was to breed some Ausies which are small as well but a lot more money. Figured I'd start with something a little cheaper. Never did get around to buying any Ausies but there's always tomorrow.
On another note what are you breeding this year and how is your season going???

Rangei go for around $150 a piece if I remember right. The only pachys I had were my Corinatus, most pachys are rock dwellers. Pile up a nice pile of rocks on the warm side of the setup, put a heat lamp set up to be 90 on the rock pile. They are small and love to hide in crevaces. The Rangei are different though, they are sand dwellers. As Geckeleon stated, the young are VERY small and need TRUE pinheads as hatchlings. Not the smalls that pet stores sell as pinheads...
